Madu River Safari With Sea Corals And Sea Turtles

An adventurous day for Sri Lankan travellers.

Once the clients have been picked up the journey begins with the following expeditions:

Initially, breakfast will be provided from 7:30 – 8:00 am on the way, and the first stop includes a quick drop by to the Kaluthara Bodhiya Temple for worship and a small contribution.

The next stop is to Kande Viharaya Temple. The Kande Viharaya is a major Buddhist temple located in the Kaluthara District, Sri Lanka. The name “Kande Viharaya,” which translates to Mountain temple, got its name since it is built atop a hill located close to Aluthgama town.

The next destination would be a visit to the Kosgoda Turtle Farm. The popular turtle care center is one of the 18 hatcheries for turtles in the southern coast of Sri Lanka. Efforts to hatch multiple different species of baby turtles and help them survive is the ultimate goal, however, the care center also aids different breeds of injured adult turtles and treats and releases them back into the sea.

Clients can then experience the Madu River Safari. This boat ride safari includes a variety of fun adventures comprising:

A visit to Kothduwa Temple.


Koth Duwa Raja Maha Viharaya, believed to have once sheltered the sacred relic of the tooth of the Buddha, circa 340 CE.

Visiting Cinnamon Island.


Cinnamon Island provides a workshop for viewers to enjoy seeing how cinnamon, sticks, power, oil is produced.

On the ride back, Fish therapy can be enjoyed.

After clients return, lunch will then be provided at the Riverfront Hotel.

Following lunch, clients then take off to see the World famous coral sanctuary (Under Water) in Hikkaduwa. Hikkaduwa’s coral sanctuary is home to thousands of exotic fish and marine turtles. The town is a seaside resort town located in Southwestern Sri Lanka. Hikkaduwa is known for its surfing and beaches, which include the palm-dotted Hikkaduwa beach, and is lined with multiple restaurants and bars.

Next clients would be driven to the famous, Galle Fort. The Galle Fort, in the Bay of Galle, is located on the Southwest coast of Sri Lanka. It is a historical heritage monument and is one of the most famous sights to see in Galle.

The end of the trip consists of snacks, tea, and a ride back home via Southern Express.
