The palace constructed during the Kandy era overlooks Nuwara wewa, a lake in the heart of the Kandy city built in the 1800s.The vibrant city of Colombo is filled with places to visit as well. In Sri Lanka places to visit maybe thousands but the handful in Colombo will give you an experience of the cultural mix within the country and the Dutch, Portuguese and British influences on the local architecture.
